Jennifer's song "In Spite of Us" most recently aired on 90210's episode "Women's Intuition" alongside Lady Gaga, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and N.E.R.D
HISTORY... Jennifer started her first band Mount in 1997, while in love with the Deftones and Radiohead, with a group of talented musicians from Long Island, New Jersey and NYC. They were a successful act among the East Village Rock scene but disbanded when Jennifer moved to DC. Jennifer continued to write and make music with producer Marc Jordan and then asked her longtime friend and bandmate, Sarah Gans, to join them to create Hetradyne. Once Sarah and Jennifer were both in DC they explored Go Go music with Myke P and Chris Styles and created The Dyne. Through all this Jennifer also explored her singer songwriter roots and in 2007 produced Educating Janey with local musicians in Virginia and D.C. HETRADYNE 1997 -2005
Hetradyne was a DC/NYCmusic project that took Sarah G. from Long Island to the capital to meet up with Jennifer. Through their hard rock adventure the girls got the opportunity to work with such musicians as Wino of Spirit Caravan and Probot, Jason Hammacher from Frodus and Dechahedron, TommySickles of Nothingface, T.L. Smoot of Page Ninety Nine, producer Marc Jordan (MilaJovovich, The Cult, Velvet Revolver) and producer Drew Mazurek (Linkin Park, Head Automatica, etc...)

Jennifer often found herself following the sound of guys beating on buckets in Manhattan until she could find the enthusiastic rebel street percussionist. It would inevitably make her day. But it wasn't until she came to D.C. that she found out there was an entire music genre built around bucket drumming! Go Go. Incredible. What a secret! As soon as she found out she began exploring the DC underground Go Go scene and came across some incredible r&b artists, as well as rappers and funk musicians. She embraced these genres and eventually teamed up with Myke P. and Chris Stylez, two of the most talented musicians she has ever met. 'Passion' became their single.
EDUCATING JANEY 2008
Educating Janey was created when Jennifer began to embrace her Americana folk rock roots from growing up with her musical genius brother Mike Appel and his act, the Mr. Bruce Springsteen, and combined it with her own generation of new wave, hard core and country...Alternative Indie Americana… it was a trip.
